Youth & Family Minister
Marty Baker has been working with our Youth and Family ministry since October of 2010. In the past, Marty has worked with the student and family ministries at the Churches of Christ in Tahoka, TX and Van, TX. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Youth and Family Ministry and a Master’s degree in Theology from Lubbock Christian University, as well as work toward a Master of Divinity degree from Abilene Christian University. Marty has also been privileged to be a guest speaker at several conferences, retreats, camps, and churches across the Southern U.S.
Marty has a huge heart for teens and their families, and aspires to create an environment that supports the holistic spiritual development of both. To accomplish this, Marty encourages and empowers students and their parents to image Christ in their homes and community, while developing a passion to Know God, Love God, and Serve God.
Marty is joined in this ministry by his wife, Melissa, their son, Dawson, and their daughter, Marlee. Melissa is a certified Middle and High School Math, Science, and Technology teacher, who compassionately serves the student ministry in several ways. Dawson is an amazing little boy with a gentle spirit. Marlee just recently joined the family and she is bringing abundant joy to all of them.
