Memory Missions

+KINDERGARTEN & 1ST GRADE

Mission 1 – God gave us His word.

  • Books of the New Testament, how many are in old, new and combined.
  • Books of Old Testament: Books of Moses or “The Pentateuch” (Genesis-Deuteronomy)
  • Luke 1:37 – For no word from God will ever fail.

Mission 2 – God gave us His son.

  • John 3: 16 – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
  • 1 John 4:7 – Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.
  • Books of New Testament

Books of Old Testament:

Mission 3 – God’s son gives us strength.

  • Philippians 4:13 – (NKJV) – I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
  • Luke 1:37 – For nothing is impossible with God.

Mission 4 – God gives us His word and His love.


  • Psalms 100:5 – For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
  • Books of New Testament

Books of Old Testament:

  • Books of Poetry (Job – Song of Solomon)

+2ND & 3RD GRADE

Mission 1 – God’s gave us His word and law.

REVIEW:

  • Books of the New Testament
  • Books of the Old Testament. How many are in the old combined and
    new.
  • Old Testament Workers: Major and Minor prophets and that the term
    “major” refers to their length, not their importance.
  • Luke 1:3- For no word from God will ever fail.

 

NEW: The 10 Commandments – Exodus 20:2-17

  1. Have no other gods.
  2. Have no idols.
  3. Honor God’s name.
  4. Honor the Sabbath day.
  5. Honor your parents.
  6. Do not murder.
  7. Do not commit adultery.
  8. Do not steal.
  9. Do not perjure yourself.
  10. Do not covet.

Mission 2 –God Loves Us.

Review:

  • John 3: 16 – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
  • 1 John 4:7 – Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.

New:

  • 1 John 4:8 – Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
  • 1 John 4:9- This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His only son into the world that we might live through Him.

You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

 

Mission 3 – Jesus Teaches us to Pray.

Review:

  • John 3:16  - For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

This, then, is how you should pray:

‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

  • Jeremiah 29:11- For I know the plans I have for you, “declares the Lord,” plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give hope and a future.
  • Phil. 4:13- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
  • John 3:3- Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
  • Mark 16:16- Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

+4TH & 5TH GRADE

Mission 1

NEW:

  • Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

  • John 13:34-35:   A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
  • Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
  • 1 John 4:7-12  Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

NEW

  • 1 Corinthians 13:4-8:  Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails.

  • Galatians 5: 13-14:  You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature ; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Mission 4

  • Proverbs 3: 5-6:  Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

  • Mark 12:29 – 31 The Greatest Commandment:   “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
  • Philippians 3:7:  But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.
