Divorce Care for Adults
The Health and Emotional Wellness Ministry (HEWM) is offering the Divorce Care Support Group. The support group is confidential and is for anyone one who has been through a divorce and are still feeling the hurt, pain, anger, and guilt, as well as many other negative emotions. We know that divorce cuts into hearts and souls deeper than most any other tragedy imaginable. It shatters precious memories as it strips us of family, roles, and identity. It reduces one of the most intimately personal relationships we can ever share with another human being to sharp shards of broken dreams and wounded hearts. Divorce can be very brutal, and leaves no family member untouched emotionally. In cases where there has been physical violence and strong emotional abuse, it is even more horrific. No wonder God hates divorce. Besides the divorce itself causing these negative emotions, it could be these negative emotions were also brought about by family members, friends or even church members who judged you and treated you unfairly. Even, if you have moved on with your life and have remarried, if you are still being affected in someway by what I have mentioned, the Divorce Care Support Group can help you.
Divorce Care is a DVD seminar series featuring some of the nation’s foremost Christian experts on divorce and recovery topics as seen from a biblical perspective. The seminars are combined with support group discussion on what the participants want to discuss as well as on the contents of the series. Divorce Care has a workbook that can help you during the week by completing daily studies.
The Divorce Care Support Group will begin Monday evenings starting November 7th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in portable building number 3. The only charge is $10.00 for the workbook. No matter what the circumstances, divorce is a painful process for all people involved. Our shepherds don’t want you to have to face this trauma by yourself. Please feel free to contact Liz Nichols at 508-0209, or at lnichols_1@yahoo.com, or Don Davis at 868-2551 or at ddavis619@msn.com if you would like more information about the support group.
