Frequently Asked Questions

There are common questions that folks have when visiting Georgetown for the first time. Here are answers to some of them.

What do people wear?

Anything they want. While you may see a few people in suits and ties, most are casually dressed, often in jeans or even shorts. Our focus is not on who wears what but whether people are connecting–with God and with their neighbor.

Will I be singled out as a visitor?

We make a general announcement to visitors during the service that welcomes them but do not give them nametags, ask them to stand or otherwise identify themselves. No one will know this is your first time here unless you tell them.

What happens at your church service?

Before the message given by our minister, we generally worship through singing, participate in prayers led by individuals, hear the Scriptures read and share in the Lord’s Supper (communion).  It’s a celebration all the way around!  Nothing too formal and nothing too trivial.  Even our offering is a celebration and visitors aren’t expected to give at all, your presence is gift enough.
